About the Online TT&S Defensive Driving Course
Basics:
- The TT&S defensive driving course is composed of 8 modules with a quiz at the end of each and a Final Test.
- Basic instructions are included at the beginning of the first module.
- The course will pick up where you left off, even within a module.
- You can opt to read closed captions by selecting the CC button on each slide. This is the script that is used for narration.
- Advancing through the course:
- You must complete each module in the order listed, including the quiz at the end of each module, before you can proceed to the next module.
- Slides cannot advance until they have played completely.
- Occasionally a slide does not play automatically. If this happens, click the play button in the lower left corner of the slide. We are aware of the issue but have not been able to resolve it. The slides of the course are set to require a play time to cover the videos or narration.
Quizzes & Final Test:
- Required fields – name and email (for reporting completions to TT&S).
- Optional fields – company name and supervisor email (or HR) for them to receive your score. Please discuss this with your supervisor or HR manager about their preference.
- If a student fails any quiz, the entire module must be taken again to reset the quiz for another attempt.
- The last module is the Final Test, which can only be completed after all other modules have been completed. A passing score of 75% is required on the Final Test.
- Quiz or test fill-in-the-blank answers are spelling and case sensitive.
Certificates of Completion:
- At this time, certificates are NOT automatically generated.
- Member Companies - Once the course has been completed by everyone in your company, please let TT&S know that you are done. At that time, we will record in our training database everyone from your company who has successfully completed the course.
- Human Resources – Once the completions are recorded, HR managers can print certificates for all employees by logging into the TT&S website at ttsafety.com. This is a separate account from Moodle.
- Employees of TT&S member companies may also log in to ttsafety.com (if they already have an account—this is NOT the same as Moodle) or sign up for an account. From there, each person can access all of the training records that TT&S keeps for them and print a certificate of completion for the defensive driving (after completions have been recorded for the company).
- Non-members - If you completed the course Final Test and included your name and email address, we will receive your results and email you a certificate of completion. Please allow 2-5 business days for us to respond. Thank you for your patience!
General Questions:
Is there a deadline to complete the course?
- Each company can determine that. We recommend 30 days from start to finish.
How will I know when an employee has completed training? Will I receive a notification, or do I have to rely on the employee to tell me?
- We set up the final test with an optional field for employees to enter an email for a supervisor. You can determine how they use that or if you don’t want them to use that. We left this optional so each company can decide what they want to do.
Is there a cost for this training?
- Defensive driving has always been covered as part of membership in TT&S for all employees of member companies. Non-employees, such as family members, are not included. For our course, there will be a fee of $9.95 for family members of member company employees to receive a certificate of completion. Non-family members and those outside of our member companies will be charged the full rate of $21.95.
